Employment Opportunities Search: A limited subset of information, such as contact information and location, are used in the employment opportunities search and matching process. This information is not exposed to employers in any listing context, and only after a Veteran has been specifically paired, or has submitted an application.

User Experience: To personalize your experience based on your preferences.

Quality Control and Support: Information is stored for quality control and support processes during the Veteran status confirmation process.

Compliance: To comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Security: To protect our platform and users from fraudulent or unauthorized activities.

Access and Security Controls

Administrative and employer accounts with access to elevated permissions or Veteran-submitted PII require two-factor authentication.

Data Limitation and Protection

We take data security seriously and have implemented reasonable measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of data transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.

At BuildEm, we do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not engage in the use of advertisements or advertising cookies on our platform.

Data Breach Response

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

Should you possess an account on this site, you are entitled to request an exported file containing your personal data, encompassing the information you’ve submitted. Additionally, you can ask for the deletion of any personal data associated with your account. To initiate the deletion process, log in to your portal, navigate to “update profile,” and select “delete account.” Please be aware that the data deletion process may take up to 45 days. It’s important to note that this exclusion does not extend to data mandated for archival purposes due to administrative, legal, or security obligations.

Data Retention

Data is held throughout the active status of the account. In cases where there is no login activity for 36 months, we may securely archive the data. A notification will be sent before the archival process takes place. If the account is archived, you will be prompted to create a new account and undergo the verification process again.
